Welcome to CdOkay!
A number of people were asking, “Why attach ‘Okay’ to CDO?” To which we promptly say “Well, its better than CDO Portal or CDO Online or some other technical titles.
But more to the point, “Okay” is just about a very ordinary expression – “OK”, “okey”, “oki” — in fact it is a common and a universal expression being understood by just about anybody. Generally uttered with a “thumbs up” sign, “Okay” connotes approval, admiration, high regard and awe, and being aware of something that pleases.
And to us, that is the essence of what separates a brilliant idea from every other Cagayan de Oro City Portal and what-have-you local City Guides.
Relating that to Cagayan de Oro, we threw in a good measure of the home-grown tagline and came up with: “City of Golden Friendship Gud, Okay Gyud!”
And this is what ‘CdOKay’ is all about: a collection of everything “Okay” in Cagayan de Oro City.
When in CDO and it feels “Okay” raise the thumb and say, “CdOKay!”

Finally! A melting pot for Kagay-anons..
In our inbox (info@cdokay.com), Jae wrote: I came across CdOkay through a google search. I’m real glad I clicked on that link. The term - CdOkay - holds on its own anyway. Real catchy. And you need not ask me to include the space in my links.
I’m Janica Tejano …I do plan to write about CdO. I will…
Kudos to you and your team’s ingenuity to come up with CdOkay. I’ll
definitely be dropping by often.

The best place in CDO while I was there was Cogon Market! I missed the ginamos, dahon camote, okay -okay, camote, saging , isda nga lab-as,ug uban pa.Ug ang mga sidewalk vendors! MABUHAY!
Great site !

After we thanked and welcomed her in CDOkay, Thelma has this tongue-in-cheek, heartwarming reply:
“I am currently teaching in Texas. I taught at MOGCHS for about 15 years. You know you make a lot of difference in our lives abroad . When I feel bored and miss our city I just google it out! Bisaya man guihapon mi deri ,we eat the Ligo nga tinapa, bulad , kamunggay naa na deri .Keep up the good work yes I’ll keep other cagay-anons posted and advertise CDOkays’s presence in the net.”

When our visitors actually mention the likes of ‘ginamos’, that is very heartfelt, we say. And thoughts like these are as close to home as it gets. “Our pleasure, always” — as we are able to touch the Kagay-anon sensibilities of our homesick stricken kababayans abroad. As of this writing Thelma is being reconnected to another Texas-based Kagay-anon, Nana Chaves Raceros.

im a half-blood Kagay-anon, but im not proud of it.. my mother is from Misamis Occidental..I would like to be called like Voldemort in Harry Potter as a Pure Blooded KAGAY-ANON…I’ve been to a lot of places around the country, from way up in luzon down the south of samal island..I’ve been to hongkong as well…I worked for a year in Cebu, got married but like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz.. there’s definitely NO PLACE LIKE HOME!!! And as a person who loves to travel and do outdoor stuff, i will always make sure to bring my ruby sandals in any case i want to go back to my Cagayan..oh my Cagayan…..

Yeh, I am proud to be Kagay-anon as a Man, a Writer, Musician and older Brother.
F.Y.I ;Cagayan De Oro has the first Italian+Filipino clan (and I am part of it….) that stood out apart from the usual Spanish/Castillan clans. Sheesh.
Enough Said.
